PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
ழ – the letter found almost only in Tamil.
The story behind it
ழ (pronounced “zha”) is one of the most distinctive letters of the Tamil script. The sound sits somewhere between an “r”, an “l” and an English “z”, made by curling the tongue back. Apart from Tamil, it exists almost only in its close relative Malayalam.
It is part of the language’s own name: தமிழ் – Tamil. That is why many see it as the heart of the language. Wear this letter and you wear something found nowhere else.
The design
- Front: the letter ழ, embroidered
- Back: small embroidered T monogram
